Stripes on stripes

Happy New Month beautiful people,

The year is going by really fast and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Reminder: today is April Fools Day๐Ÿ˜‚ do not be deceived, I know some people spend months planning pranks for today, don’t be a victim. What pranks have you played on this day? And what pranks have you fallen for? I want to know ๐Ÿ˜‚.

My mum was talking about a few years ago, when my papa told her that the house in Port Harcourt had burnt down,
trust the Yoruba woman to shout and scream. Lol! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I can wait to see my mothers comment when she sees I associated the Yoruba woman with shouting and screaming, its actually a Nigerian Woman thing , we are soooo dramatic.. It must be all that Africa Magic .. I digress.

So, yes! Happy New Month.
Today’s outfit is an old skirt fromย  Mr price
My mom’s camisole
And a kimono from jumia here

My first thought was to wear an all white or an all black top and skirt or dress and let the kimono be the main focus like in this post.

I later found this striped skirt, and wore it instead because some times more is just what it is,more!. Lol.

I love stripes, I’d literally ( I hope that’s the right use of literally๐Ÿ˜‚) buy anything that has stripes, a top, bag, shoes, if it’s striped I want it! So the stripe on stripe outfit was a no brainer.

As usual I’d like to hear your thoughts.

  1. I honestly don’t know what’s with you and my “Yorubaness”. Unfortunately, u can’t run away from it, u this naughty “ijaw” girl. To the main topic, ur stripe on stripe isn’t a bad idea at all!

  2. Hi Tonye,

Indeed, more is more. I absolutely love this look, It looks deliberate in a nice way as you went all out rather than choosing the safe option of pairing it with a plain colour. Striped prints are always stylish.

Lol… I got April-fooled once yesterday by someone I fooled earlier, it was payback. He pointed to the ground and told me my pen had fallen and when I bent to pick it up, there was no pen.

Ah! Nigerian women can be dramatic, we prefer to shout a loud “Yeepa!” instead of quiet “ouch”. Just because…

    Have a lovely weekend.

PS: It’s so cute how your mum leaves comments on your blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thank you.
I was starting to think people had gotten over April fool,no one tried to prank me, although I think I was a little too prepared.
      Lol! Served you right.
Ouch doesn’t quite cut it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.. What is life without some drama.
      Thanks.
Haha! That’s my biggest supporter, she has to.
